View Full Version : Leucistic texas rat *pics*
I absolutely love these guys. Full of personality and totally lacking in colour!! I picked up a great pair from Mark at Red Deer and here's pics of them!!!
I can't tell which is which, but one is the male and the other the female.
I think the male b/c he's the one in blue and this snake looks blue.

And the female. Look at that beautiful blue eye.

They ate excellently for me and I wish I could pick up more. Course I have enough, but they're such gorgeous snakes. They're not extremely common, but not a lot of people show theirs off. They're big and totally white.

Amazing picture - I've always wanted those - I don't think I can pass on mark's perfect babies.
When I told Danny Conners from Texas that there were leucistic's hatched with perfect eyes, he wanted to buy as many as he could get back to texas - says all texas ones have bug eyes. I gave him Mark's number - now I realize I should have begged or traded for all of them.

Here's my little guy that I picked up earlier this summer from Animals for Education.
He's not kinked or anything, he just ripples like that under the one big hide. Totally normal eyes too :)

He's also a vicious little bugger. He will strike against the side of the cage over and over again, but will settle down once picked up. It's like if he can't smell it, it must be food. :D
Ripple!! That's the word to describe it!! Rippling! Why oh why do ratsnakes do that?

I remember driving into Medicine hat to return blue beauties that I was sure were kinked, after Sheila picked them up. After the drive, they were all perfect. Doh!!!!!

"ripples" I hate it when they do that!!! People are always stating that the VBBS & LTRs all looked kinked, NOT! LOL I think its just a ratsnake thing.
Ryan you can still beg & or trade as there are more available LOL She doubleclutched, not bad for her first year (& Yolk's too eh Katt!) despite not being rebred. Low fertility second go round only 3 & 1 went bad but 2 more babies anyhow Woo Hoo!
Nice pics Katt! Mark
These guys are so awesome. I'd buy more if I didn't have so many on the plate now!
Can't go wrong with these guys!

Should name the male ruffles ;-)
hahaha
very nice and from what I can see they don't have the bug eye that often comes with them.

I have been trying to find a pair for years now but it has been impossible. I think I am just going to try and find an adult female for my normal male, it may take a bit longer to get leucy babies but at least I'll still have one to hold me over till then.
Gorgeous snakes by the way!
Steve
Of all the LTR's Katt has got from different breeders in the US AND Canada, Mark's have to be the most robust and perfect eyed ones! Did I mention perfect eye? Perfect eyes people! :D
