Well it's not a traditional love story. If you didn't like that ending then watch the directors cut maybe you will like that ending better. Damn good movie. TB

Yeah it was a good movie, but nothing like a bad ending to leave you high and dry. I didn't know that the director's cut has a different ending, would like to see it.
Another movie with a crap ending I just saw was The Rules of Attraction, was good up until then though. Shame..

.... I thougt it had an awesome ending for the type of film it was. Definately a great movie, but the girls I went with hated it. Depends on your taste. (whether or not you love great movies! :p)

I saw that movie as well on DVD, ending its what I expected....real life doesn' t always have a hapy ending and that ending was what should be expected no matter what.

I liked this movie, too... I was totally floored that Ashton Kutcher was capable of playing something other than a slightly misguided teenage male. Kinda depressed me, but definitely a good film.

The ending suited the movie....it's not a lovey dovey movie. If they ended up together it would have sucked!
The directors cut is the original ending. They made him change it to before it went to theater. Boo fn hoo. It's better but harsh. TB

i think directors cut is the one i saw. I didnt know there were different endings.
Thats an awesome movie, didnt expect it to end that way, but it was a wicked ending none the less.

The director's cut has added scenes and a completely different and more intense ending. Personally, I liked the regular ending better, I thought it was more clever. Definately a great concept for a movie and good execution. It has been added to my DVD collection for a couple weeks now. I think that my latest addition of Punisher brings me over 150. I hate TV Commercials.
LOL Brian, you JUST passed the 150 mark??? Oh man, I remember not too long ago, you had more then me... My, how times have changed! :D I'm up to 165 DVD's now..
As far as the Butterfly Effect goes, I too was suprised at how well Ashton Kucher played this roll. As for the concept, it was awesome.. Great movie, both endings were good..

the director's cut ending SUCKS, I hated it
in utero fetal suicide is a completely stupid way to end the movie
I loved the theatrical version ending, it was excellent

I can't remember the ending, but whatever happened I remember liking it. I have to disagree on Ashton Kutcher though, there were some parts where it seemed his 70's Show character showed itself. Although maybe I am predisposed to not like him because the reason why I saw the movie was because the girl I went to the movies with wanted to see him because she thinks he's hot. But in the end I was happy I saw it because it was entertaining.

i liked the DC ending better. i liked the whole palm reader scene lending to the fetal suicide. and it's awesome because he lived but he didn't, and there were more that did the same. i liked it much better. if they had left it at the fetal suicide thing it would've kept with the tone of the movie. but the very last scene where they see each other. that was bunk, lol. the new scenes were better though IMO.
haha sorry for everyone who hasn't seen it, hope i didn't ruin too much...

When Mystic River came out we were grochery shopping and two stock guys were talking and blurted out the ending right there. I was unhappy to say the least. :D

The whole 'giving away the ending' argument completely ties into the movie! How clever guys! You are giving people the same abilities that Ashton had, the chance to change how the movie ends based on foreshadowing.
If you don't like what you hear, change it!
PS Who cares if someone tells the ending of a movie! Usually a sentence or two won't ruin it, and perhaps it'll leave you even more perplexed during the movie, as you wonder "How could this end up like they said it would?" Ah well, to each their own...

One of my favorite torments in high school was when I would see someone with "Of Mice and Men" under their arm, I would walk up and say "George shoots Lenny in the end". It never failed that they were reading the last chapter over lunch.

Stay warm...in the middle...they both live then, right???? THINK Jack...lmao...;) oh..and I actually meant a sequal to The Butterfly Effect, though...lol...
Guys, you entered a thread called "The Butterfly Effect" but didn't expect spoilers? lol
What else would people be talking about in this thread aside from various scenes and parts in the movie?
I thought the movie was good. Nothing spectacular but definitly cool.

I thought that movie absolutely rocked. Sure, the ending sucked for him, but, overall, I thought the movie was well written and directed. I found it rather disturbing in parts too, I'm definitely buying this one. :)
Matt I am surprised you even added your witty little remark seeing as I can beat you up tomorrow in person my dear.
I won't spoil the ending for anyone, but it will involve a smack down. :P:P
