My gecko is the right size and everything. I gave her the first pinkie today, and she won't eat it. I don't want to kill it, so does anyone know any tricks to feed it?
She notices it, but she is uninterested or afraid of it.

Thanks in advance!:)

they don't really need to eat pinkies, i only give pinkies to my girl when she is gravid. i say, if she doesnt want to eat the pinky dont try and make her. it can only cause problems. she knows better than you or i whether or not she is the right size.

plz dont try to feed her a pinky mamalian fat in large amounts can damadge the liver and to tell you the truth its easier to feed them one or two waxies every once in a while instead of pinkies.

Pinkies can cause fatty liver disease even if you feed her every 2-3 months or more. Only feed if she is gravid.

So what do I do with the mouse? It's still alive, but I don't think the pet store will take it back. My guess is that it won't last the night.

Oh and if I have any more questions about feeding leos, ahould I post in this forum or feeding forum? I don't know how leopard geckos compare to other lizards, so I posted here just in case.

Thanks for the replies.

Well maybey keep it as a pet? I am no rat person but the same thing happened to me with my beardie and leo. So i just looked up a quick search of caresheets for keeping pinkies. He died after awhile.

Will they drink cow milk? I don't want to be cruel to the pinkie, so I guess i'l feed it and keep it warm until it dies. How long will that take?

There are plenty of pinky care sheets. I have had this happen many times. So I give them to my aunt now who breeds and keps rats for feeders and pets. The longest lived is 7 months right now.

A long run? what are you talking about leos are known to live upwards of 20 years. 15 at the least. I wouldnt doubt it was bad care that killed him.

I think he was talking about the pinky mouse, not the leo.

Well He didn't even try. I tried something I usually try with crix: I dampen their feet and put them on her back. She usualy turns around and eats it off. But when I put on the pinkie she turned around and licked it until it wobbled away. I rubbed cricket guts on it, put a dab of yogurt, I pretty much tried everything (except dressing it in a little cricket suit. I didn't try that one.) and nothing worked. Instead of buying dead pinkies I decided not to buy them at all. At least for now; maybe I'll try some other time.
