I've lost more than my share of cornsnakes and luckily I allways got them back within a week.

The trick....

I lay sticky mouse traps (the ones that you find at Dollarama 4 for 1$). I also leave pinkys laying around.

They eventualy get caught in the trap at night.

To pull them out of the glue, simply use baby oil, then after he's all slippery, wash him with a mild soap. Guess I was lucky, hope you guys will be too.

Yeah, good idea.. have him get hungry and let him dry in a wall somewhere, it's relly better than having him get stuck in a little trap.

and how much damage dos the glue do to thar skin when you peel the little one off of the trap ????put down watter and a small cage with a p/k mouse in it every week or so if the snake is still in the house thay will find food sooner or later we would hope

Actualy none... I also would of thought that scales could come off..

But using baby oil disolves the glue instantly like water to sugar.

I found 4 snakes that way in the past year and all were 100% fine, not one scale missing.

I'm talking about that specific brand that I get at Dollarama, if someone would think using another brand, please test it on yourself to be sure it get unstuck with oil.

We are going to make our reptile room snake proof, we are going to make sure he can't leave the room, so then its an easy find....

i just put towels and clothes on the floor(well actually they are already on the floor..lol)and the snakes hide under them....

I once had a little corn go missing on me, and I didn't even know it. I went to the bathroom at about 3 AM, and there was the little guy sitting in the bathroom, on my pile of laundry. I thought to myself as I was sitting there "Man, the strap on my night gown is very long", not even fully aware that I was wearing the stupid thing lol.

What is it about the bathroom that they love so much?

WYZ- I know EXACTLY which ones you are talking about.

We use them here for catching loose crickets, and mice that escape. When we have to remove a mouse, they come right off. I lay them hiding around my gecko cages to catch loose crickets, then just tose them.

Maybe snakes like bathrooms because the ambient temps are generally pleasant (nobody likes a cold seat), and the humidity is usually higher than anywhere else in the house.

Any other theories?

Maybe the best reading is in there :)

y friends came over one night to get ready to go out and while I was putting on make up they went to check out the snakes - the next morning I woke up to mu b/f screaming thats just f`n great and when i came downstairs one of the cages were left open and 2 snakes were gone

3and a half mnths later we found one in the basement - we were keeping mice to try to breed (that doesn`t work well with cats) and one of the cats busted into the cage and killed some - we found the rest around and put them in the cage and my b/f told me to keep mu hand over the hole the cat made while he ran up to get duct tape - suddenly around the side of the cage was one of the baby snakes - just trying to have his turn on the mice too - now if only the other would turn up
