I have read lots of diffrent ways how to build an incubator, but i want to hear first hand from people who breed cresteds what method of incubating eggs you use? If you could include the temp and humidity you guys use it would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance.

I use a ratio of 2 perlite to 1 part water by weight. Place the mixture in a small plastic container and record the final weight. Every so often I check the weight to see if there is any moisture loss. If so then I add the amount thats missing. The temps in my house range from 69-79 degrees and Im not sure about the humidity. My eggs usually hatch between 70-75 days. Hope this helps. :)

I take vermiculite, soak it and drain it...Doing the 1:2 ratio might be a better idea though :D I keep it moist and have it in a chicken egg incubator....60 days @ 79 degrees is average. :)
Good luck

i use perlite as the incubation material, I use a hova bator incubator, although they are costly it will be worth it, i keep mine at 78 degrees.

ok, just a couple more questions for clarification. Do you guys set the eggs right on the perlite/vermiculite? do you poke holes in the plastic container? or do you just open every so often so they can breath? and CDN will temperature fluctuations not hurt the eggs?

With my finger a make a little dentation for the eggs so that 1/3 to 1/2 of the egg is in the mixture. I also poke holes in the side of the plastice container with a pen, I punch 2 holes per side. The only time I open it is when I add water. With crestie eggs, temperature flucuations wont harm the eggs. Its perfectly safe. I got my incubation method from the Rhac book.
