First off, let me congratulate Roy Stockwell for another Canadian first as he has successfully bred the San Gabriel locality of rosy boa this year.
I was fortunate enough to pick up a pair of these small beauties.
The San Gabriel is a beautiful locality of Coastal Rosy Boa. This variety has greatly reduced black pigmentation and extensive orange speckling on the dorsal and ventral surfaces. Their stripes are more jagged and the orange intensifies as they get older. And we all know Roy loves his colour Orange!!!
I have included a pic to show the speckling along with a pic showing a comparison to California desert rosies (which I also have a pair and love!).
This makes 3 pairs of rosy boas for me - desert, mexican and now san gabriel. Next up ..... Limburg albinos?
Thanks Roy for the professional help and also the use of these pics as I did not want to stress the little ones on their first day home.
