If you're hibernating her in the hope to reduce her fat lumps, ain't gonna work. You'll just end up with a skinny, lumpy snake. No reason to feed her rats as that may have been the cause of her obesity too. Good luck! :)

that is the way i got her from a freand that has been over feeding her for a year now all i breed are rats mice stink way too much and the stores are charging 2.99 for a feeder mouse down here have a small coloney of mice that i keep just for pinkies will keep that in mind paul she is over 47" and way to fat ,cool all of my kings and corns over the winter I think it is more natural for them .thanks :Paul all info would help

I feed all my colubrids rats.

They have caused them to gain a bit more weight than normal, but I also HATE mice. I have basically just lowered the prey size and feeding frequency to even things out a bit.

My adult males only get fed one rat per 14 days or so. My females get a smaller sized rat, every 7 days.

That corn is definitly obese! :) Make sure she gets lots of exercise!

Hmmm... 47 inches eh? I would bet that she weighs about 1100g. Any other guesses?

Pretty girl - agree with Vanan - the lumps are not likely to go away even with exercise and diet. We have a Durango mountain king that has lost weight this summer but still has his lumps. Good luck with this girl,

Yup with excercise those lumps shouldn't be gone, but at least the fat would become a bit more toned up. So even though the outlook wouldn't be much of a difference, the inside of the muscle tone would be a lot better.

Man...she is really fat.....LOL....

hope that she does get a lot healthier with more excercise.....(lol...I think that she isn't going to like it....used to get 4 mice a week and now getting 1 mice every 14 days......lol)

There is no reason with an adult corn to slowly reduce the feeding regimen in fear of them getting stressed...I would make the immediate adjustment and stick with it for a little while. :)

Looks like a Miami to me but I am not 100% on that.

Oh she definitely can be put under the miami catagorie.

I know that a lot of miamis are smaller than others, plus start off with things like anoles and lizards of others....but with the influence of other local corns they could get bigger and start of with mice. So unless your snake's locality is from Miami (which those are the 'true' miamis nowadays) as long as it has a silver background and marronish blotches then its good to be called a Miami~~
