View Full Version : Cham feeding
Hey guys I need some help. I just moved my cham into a larger cage. He went from a 1 foot X 2 foot X 1 foot cage to a 2 foot x 3 foot x 3 foot cage. He made the move 2 days ago. I placed the same feding dish I was using in his smaller cage in to the larger cage with some crix. normaly he was eating around 8 a day. I have noticed that he hasn't been eating them at all.
Is this normal?
Do I just keep up with the misting and the driper till he finds the dish and eats the crix?
Is there something I can do to speed this up?
I realy like the guy and want to do everything I can for him within reason. Any help would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks all

My first guess would be that he is just getting used to his new home and he'll be a little stressed for now. Try not to handle him at all and keep him in a low traffic area. He should start eating in the next couple days most likely. Keep a close eye on him.
Good luck
Bartman is right, you need to give your chameleon probably 1-2 weeks, to get used to its new enviroment. He is probably really stressed from being moved to a much bigger cage. Also, the changes in crix size might do that to him.
thanks guys. So I should keep misting him and just let him be then. How long should I wait till I take action? I didn't change the siz of the crix as I didn't want to stress him out too much.

so is that 2 feet wide buy three deep and three high? Have you tried holding the dish below him so he can see them right there?
Hve you tried just letting his food roam free range. I have kept very few animals that prefered eatting from a dish.
What species are you working with?
Carl
the dish sits at the bottom of the cage and and he used to eat out of it B4.
Yes the cage is 2 feet wide 3 feet tall and 3 feet long.
I have a vailed 4 months old.
thanks for the help
