Hey everyone.
I have wood to spare and figured I'd use it to built a small "test" enclosure. If it works, then I'll use it, if it fails, oh well. I have a few questions. First how do you all install the tracks for the sliding glass? Put the glass in and then install? Also, what should I use to seal the wood? And how long should I leave it so it can air-out? Do I leave it outside to air-out, in the house etc?
Sorry if I sound completely stupid, I just don't want to use it for a future animal and have him/her injured. Last, do I seal all the wood, then put it together then silicone? In that order?

Thanks so much everyone.

I use contact cement for the track. I can't help you with the sealer as I use melamine myself. Also mount track then measure for glass size.

Well it depends what kind of look you want your tank to have on the inside? You can use a 2 part epoxy or and can use the stuff I just fininshed using which is called herculiner....the catch with herculiner is that it eaither comes in black, gray , or red. I used the black for my tanks and I think it turned out cool. But the 2 part stuff can cost more and be more confusing to mix in smaller parts, but it comes in tons of colorsor even clear so you show the woods grain. Also, us would use some type of wood glue when building the tank system, then seal, and finally then use the silicone. But take a look at the herculiner stuff you might like it. Plush you would want to seal it out saide of your house, because it is going to smell and make you high (anything you use to seal i mean). Wait until the smell is gone and them bring it in.
