Hahaha, I still remember when I upgraded my pc to a ibm 486 dx... damn thing cost an arm and a leg and some toes on the other feet ;-) But it sure did run Doom compared to the 386 and early 486.

Amazing that this was only in 1989 - not that long ago - even if it is before some people on this list were born.

Major step up from our starting computer - a Tandy that stored data on a cassette tape! Try doing a thesis on one of those!

Lol but the obvious is still there, let's check back in 15 years to the pc we are currently using, imagine wha they will be like then... scary

But the technology I am most anxious to see come around is the microchip inserted in us, with one touch of the finger, we can make a transaction, our passport will be on that. Now that will be something.

There are tests being done on our body electricity being able to convert it into codes allowing to have those chips in us and save data to it...

The biggest obstacle to purely digital identification is once someone has your data, they've got it for good. Licenses can be cancelled and re-issued, so can social insurance numbers.

Having one's fingerprint, retina, or DNA digitally encoded in a format that would make it easily copied would suck :)

But give it a decade... RFID is coming to Wal-mart, and they brought us the UPC code despite much industry resistance.

Its pretty amazing how computers and game entertainment systems have improved in the past 20 years. Its hard to keep up with!:D
