View Full Version : Introducing new boa
I have a question and need help. I have had a red tail for over a year. I want to adopt a Boa my friend is selling. I want to know if it is a good ar bad idea placing both boas in the same cage. will the fight? Will they get upset and not eat? The cage I have is about 4 feet long 1 1/2 wide and 1 1/2 tall. My boa is 3 feet long and the boa I want to introduce is also 3 feet long. Any info is greatly appreciated.
It is best to keep them separate. If you do a search on this topic, there have been many great posts discussing this issue.

it is also important to quarantine the new animal for a significant period of time to avoid the transmition of any diseases it might have.

I would keep them separate too. And the quarantine is not really an option... JonD is right, there has been tons of discutions about this before... Safer to keep them separate...

Quarantine isnt a opition? What happens if one gets sick due to the other? I strongly advise a quarantine time. Its not very hard to do. Keep them in 2 different rooms and use different equipment for each snake for 60-90 days. Best of Luck.

Hey Steve, when i say Quarantine is not an option, it means that it's imperative, it's necessary!
Thank you all for your information.
