I have a Central American Boa that is around a year old. Lately I've been having some trouble keeping the humidity at a constant level that is high enough (it keeps dropping down to around 40). So I was considering putting a live plant in the cage to help boost the humidity. However, I had a few questions first.

#1. What is a good plant(s) to put in a cage for keeping humidity?

#2. What is the suggested way for keeping it? Just placing the pot in the cage vs. actually planting it somehow in the substrate?

I appreciate any help/advice anyone can give. Thanks in advance.

I don't think live plants are the way to go with boas, it'll destroy the plant. There are other ways to keep your cages humidity up, the best way I have found is buy simply placing te water dish on the warm side of the cage. Humidity is not all that important with bci's, the only time i raise my humidity for my bci/bcc's is at the time of shed, your boa will do fine at 40% but raise it to around 60% when shedding is near.
