i am curious as to your opinion, i currently have large water dishes in all my setups. Do any of you just use a small dish to allow drinking and maintain humididty by misting.

Is a large dish really necessary or is small ok

I use a pretty big one as the snakes do like to soak in it from time to time.

Small is ok, but I think larger is better that way the snake has the option of soaking if and when it wants to.

You'd be surprised what snakes can curl up in. I had Hades, my 7'+ boa, curl up completely in an ice cream bucket. I guess what I'm saying is, the snake needs to be able to soak, but doesn't need to be able to do laps. :D

Yeah, I have mine as in the middle, small enough so it doesn't take over half the enclosure, but big enough that if it so chooses, it can soak.

I'm sure bigger water dishes can't hurt though.....
