I have tried to contact you over the last couple of weeks. I know you were away but I am assuming you are back. I have e-mailed you and Lauynn, and Shane without a reply in regards to advertising. Does no one reply any more? I wanted to get a banner for our reptile show, but its kind of hard when no one replies? Are you not interested in people advertising any more?

This is ridiculous, we just went through all this crap about new buttons to get more advertising ie... money to keep the site going. Then when members want to support the site directly they get no answers or replies. I'd have to say that is rather counterproductive. I as well asked about a photo hosting account probably two months ago and never did get a reply! If Jeff is too busy then maybe he should delegate some work to someone else, moderators or something. I don't want this to come off like I'm just whining and complaining, I really do enjoy this site and appreciate all the work everyone does to keep this place open, it's just that there are people that want to show their support monetarily and aren't being given the opportunity. I have sent and resent the banner to both Jeff and Laurynn. I have not had a reply from either as to whether or not it will be posted. I was even willing to pay double if they would be put up a little more often. If you do not want to put the banner up, or aren't able to then at least let me know. I have not gotten an e-mail otherwise letting me know anything. I though a little support here and there would be appreciated. And I have been more than patient. This is going on 2 weeks for something that should have taken 1 or 2 days.

So I am assuming that getting members to help out through advertising costs isn't as important any more. I still do not see our banner up, and have gotten nothing in terms of an e-mail to say it will or it won't be up. To put it nicely I am very dissappointed with the way this site has gone lately. It is too bad as this site has been a vast resource with a real community feel. I guess with the addition of Reptibad etc us little peoples help isn't needed any more. Its really too bad...

Walter actually paid for advertising, quite a while ago, so I emailed and Pmd Jeff starting July 9, after the Frasier Valley Show was over, to see if Walter could get the Red Deer show banner that he paid to have made put up on the front page. I never heard back from Jeff, but see that the last PCPC show's advertising got put up there - so I guess someone is getting some emails from Eastern Canada atleast.

Ryan, you can clearly see that Jeff posted the ad for the Port Credit Show two months before you started PMing Jeff.. Infact, he even got the date wrong and never did fix it.. LOL

Can you please look into this. It is one thing to say sorry and say there is something wrong. The better way to do it is to look into it and say things are going to change. I hope something can be done to bring this site back to the way it was. I am sure Jeff is busy and he now seems to be away lots and I am sure this is not the case, but it almost seems like he has given up on the site.

I am not sure how much more in can be looked in to.. It's almost as though people think we have some secret code word we use to get a hold of Jeff.. Just as you guys have not spoken with him, neither have we.. This thread has been brought up a couple times now and I have personally tried to contact Jeff to show him the thread or have him take a look at it, and have not heard from him.. Actually Matt, the Fraser Valley one was up on the main page for quite a while, and still was when I emailed Jeff the first time about the Red Deer show's add that Walter has paid for. Then, the pcpc one went up - but I had thought it was for the September 12 show, I see that it says June 13 now. Still, someone must have taken the Fraser Valley one down.

I thought it was bad to not be able to give money to a site and have your advertising put up. It is even worse for someone to pay for something and not have anything to show for it. This is poor business. If he is not going to fulfill his obligations as the site owner, or not pass on his duties to someone below him. Someone has definitely dropped the ball and I think until this is fixed, someone else should be given the power to take over his duties, or the advertising page should be taken down.

Sure could have fooled me. You may be doing your best Matt but seems like the main man has neglected a few important things. I sure hope the TARAS show gets a banner up before it's time. It's tough to not make it look like favoritism Matt. Not any fault of yours but just the situation does look bad. Been watching Greg's posts for a while now. Tis sad.

I understand what you're saying Vanan, and I won't for a minute say it doesn't look bad.. The MOD's are given limited amounts of 'power' for lack of a better term.. If there was anything I could personally do to get the banner up, I would without a doubt do it.. Unfortunatly, there's nothing I can do..

Rumour has it that the site has been sold. The new owner doesn't want to take over any contract obligations so at the end of the year, when everything expires, the new owners will take over and not have to honour any contracts. Then they can change and/or close down the site. If you think about it it kind of makes sense why Jeff isn't talking to anyone and isn't answering his emails/phone (even though he's NOT away).

Normally I'd call Jeff to see what's up.........but what's the point......he's not answering anyone and we don't get along anyways.

Is this true? It would make sense the way I see it, but I will be pretty pissed off if I payed for a year photohosting account and it is cancelled at the end of the year. I did not pay at the end of the year. I paid half way through the year. Also if Walter has paid for his banner to be put up then put up his damn banner or refund his money. It is one thing to not take money and not put up advertising, but it is a totally different ballgame when someone pays and does not get what he paid for. Obviously nothing is getting done for the TARAS show advertising (Big thanks for all the help on that goes out to Jeff and/or any anyone else who dropped the ball), but you better do something about the people who have given you money for something they haven't gotten.

This is a trend I've been noticing for a while. The popularity of this site is dwindling, and the amount of traffic (or at least the number of posts) it gets these days is nothing compared to what it used to be. Yeah yeah I'm not a ssnakess supporter so shouldn't talk, but it's true.

This site is dieing, and it is a crying shame for Canadian herpers.

The site is not sold. We were told those links were there because they were paying half the server fee and there were links to this site on their site.

Well, this could all be cleared up within minutes if Jeff would just post and tell us what's going on.

Okay this is Jeff... First things first, nowones money was stolen. Walter paid for a front page banner advertisment which he has on the front page. He also paid for a forum banner which he told me he would email to me and right now my inbox has about 5000 emails in it and please excuse me if I missed it. Walter please email me the forum banner to jeff@ssnakess.com and I will put it into rotation tonight.

Secondly, I am away and the site is not taking any money or banners or donations as I am not able to process them. I have to make money to live. Some of you might think I dont work but unfortunatley I work 12 hours a day 8 hours from home right now on contract, and yes working to make money comes before this web site which I spend the money I WORK TO GET on to keep it up and running. Not the website that makes me a ton of money so I dont have to work. Lets not get that twisted.

So there you have it, I am away and the site wont be accepting any donations or banner subscriptions untill my contract is up. I will let you know when im back. Sorry for any inconveniences for those who want to advertise but unfortunately we all have to work for a living and unless I win the lottery and can turn away good paying jobs out of town, you will just have to understand.

Oh yeah, to everyone who is making assumptions or telling people what they think is going on in my absense, dont bother. You are making things 10 times worse for everyone. I have people watching over the server for me but they cannot access the banners, or my paypal accounts etc... So that is why if you have sent me money via paypal they are unclaimed. I dont have time after work to go to the hotel lobby and use the internet everynight and to devote to the website for a few more weeks. Please just be patient and understand I work a physical job 12 hours a day, out of town for another 2 - 3 weeks, so be patient.

Its been longer than that since you have been replying to peoples requests. Obviously it wasn't too hard to reply once the fire flared up again. If you are going to be away for a period of time you should have someone else in charge of adding banners etc. I am not sure why someone can't do that while you are away. Things would probably be a little more civil if that was implemented, or put a auto reply on your e-mail when you are away. That way pepole aren't guessing for weeks at a time where there money went, or what is happening with possible advertising.
