Hi their. I am looking into acquiring a land type turtle, and have
narrowed down my choices to 3.......mostly as these 3 are
available in my area.
Which is the best species for me, as a newbie turtle keeper, who is changing over from fish keeping, to the reptile side (must be middle age)........lol

I can provide a consistant temp of 70-73f. And I don't really want
to get a undertank heater, but will if I must.....

The choices are:
Eastern Box Turtle
Malaysion Box Turtle
Ornate Wood Turtle

I am looking for easy care, a "pet", and longevity, and size (small is better)

What would you get if all the prices were the same...........

Thanks!

The Malayan Box turtle is not really a land type turtle. They would probably be happiest in a semi-aquatic type habitat.

Undertank heaters are not the best option for turtles, as they are diurnal. They need a day-time light (no red or black lights) to provide their basking spots. :sun:
