That's my honest thoughts on it. I mean, lets say right when yours are ready to go, you could just happen to get lucky and find a buyer. More likely though would be to get a pet shop to agree on purchasing them. Then again pet shops may be full, and you might not find a whole clutch buyer so you will have to sell them privately one by one.

Well my bro has wanted a pair or trio for along time, and we know a guy who sells his for a very good price but he will only breed them if he can find at least 5 buyers and my bro is the only buyer.

So my bro was thinking of buying the whole clutch and selling them to a few pet stores or/and one by one privatley.

For the right price you can sell anything. But if you want one why dont you just hook up with on of the breeders that are in here there are some pretty awsome guys/girls heres that would help you out but try putting a add in here explaining and see what kind of response you get.

So hes trying to presell the whole clutch before considering breeding them Heh Heh Sorry but GOOD LUCK Also GBs are very hard to establish (takes months) & no petstore is ever going to want to deal with this, trust me I'm sitting on 3 clutches now & have 3 more on the way (got a few years in here also lol). If the price is right you may find someone who is willing to buy/establish the clutch, but chances are no. I'm more than willing to sell them by the dozens unestablished, but I have only had one buyer approach me this year & he wants 1 specimen. Out of 37 GBs this year so far only 3 have eaten (2 twice, one once - all live) & I don't expect this to change much for a month or 2. I have a bunch sold once estblished, but that will be a while DOH! LOL GBs sell easy once established but thats the whole gig, establishing them. Making babies is easy, establishing them & marketing them is the hard part. Good Luck & if you want a bunch cheap (unestablished that is) feel free to contact me. Mark

BTW, what is the average price on one of your GB's Mark? They are the only colubrid that really interest me and I was considering getting one or two.

They (unlike BPs) once established feed great with no "slumps" its getting them started that takes a while. They feed on lizards in the wild but I offer them nothing but mice as thats all they are ever going to get here. They seem to not be interested in food at all for a least a month or 2. I got about 1/3 of them to eat live P's last week & all the same ones & a whole bunch more to take dead P's yesterday. This would be around the 5-6 week mark for them thus the sudden interest in food. All the messing with lizard scenting, braining etc. etc. etc. I don't even bother with these guys as I find it is more of a time factor & once started they usually eat like typical kings without the aggression of course. I sell the unestablished ones for $50 with no guarrantees on feeding & prices go up from there based on feeding status (how many meals or not, live, dead, etc) & the specimens appearance etc. to as high as $120 for a screaming nice well established female specimen with full feeding guarrantees etc. Most go for around $80-$100 depending on the above factors etc. They are very docile snakes too, less aggressive than most corns & I think their lack of aggression is a major factor in the beginning too. Its almost immpossible to get them mad at the prey to strike it making tease feeding not much fun. Once established they are an ease to keep & great to work with, until then they are a pain LOL Mark

Mark, ever thought of cooling them for a month or so and then trying to feed. Mountain kings are sometimes easier started that way, may be the same for greybands. I'm thinking of doing so with my hognose babies.

I have no idea at all about this, but ever try feeding baby pictus geckos to get them started? I was just reading this for something to do and i was curious.

Good Point Vanan, I failed to mention that. People have had success doing so for only a week or 2 even, but is it the cooling or just the time waited that makes the difference? Its never got to the point where I have done it, but I was just saying the other day that I think the colder weather is a factor as we had the first frost right when they all started this year. I know others have had success doing this though not only with GBs, but other species.
As far as considering feeding them Geckos goes, its out of the question for me, but others have been successful doing so. I don't have a large supply of baby geckos at my fingertips for one & I don't want snakes that think they need to eat geckos either, requiring a large supply of geckos always. These guys all come from quite a few CBB generations & no one has had anything to do with lizards for generations & I'm definitely keeping it that way. If they were WC stuff that would be totally different & as I stated lizard scenting etc. has got me no where in the past, it seems to be more of a time factor before they get hungry. They refuse food every which way served & then just start taking pinkies one day be it live or dead. Its like they decide when its time, not me DOH! Mark
