View Full Version : Old Chat/New Chat

Okay, I totally understand why the new buttons were put in place, but I'm just wondering, why the old chat link points to the new chat as well?

I know the old chat wasn't particularly active, but those few of us who used it often really enjoyed it (I've gotten some GREAT laughs there), and once in a while, there will be some more people there making it somewhat busy. Now, unless people remember what IRC Network it was on, they would not be able to find it.

So, is the administration purposely moving everyone over to the new chat? Or can we continue to have our own, with the button link pointing to the new chat and the old link pointing to the old chat?

Sorry, I should specify, by old link I meant the part of the banner graphic that's always showing at the top of the page.

the old chat room is on irc.chat-solutions.org for your irc servers
then join channel ssnakess

How do you shut down an irc channel?? It will always be there and im sure there will always be some of us in there..

Matt is right. You cannot shut down ICR channels. Join any ICR server, make up a room name, and bam you have a room going.

latazyo IRC is a form of online chatting with people, its HUGE, the chat button for this sight used to interface with one of the irc servers and join the former official ssnakess.com chat channel. They are apparently shutting it dow but as long as there are people there the room won't be shut down. ER sounds wrong but i gotta go now

They can't force people to use that new dumbed down chat. If anyone wants to re open their own room on MIRC they can EASILY do so, including one with whatever rules you wish. Now naming it ssnakess.com might just be poking a bear, but in reality anyone can have any MIRC channel they wish.

You cannot shut down and IRC channel. There's always someone in chat, and it's actually been busy lately...

Anyone who wants to join can go to www.mirc.com, download it, then join the irc.chat-solutions.org server and joing # ssnakess.
