Sooooo...I just got an iguana a couple days ago.
Yeah, I know what everyone is thinking...but seriously, I adopted it from my local s.p.c.a. - Some one found it in a park a mnth ago and it has been in foster care up until 2 days ago when it entered my zoo (well its not really a zoo - 3 cats, 2 rotweilers, 7 corns, 6 newly hatched corns, a hamster, and some breeding mice)
She is approx 1 yr and very beautiful and has a lovely temperment for an animal found out doors. Apparently she just walked right up to some people @ the park and they turned her in.
SO I just want some feedback on what I can do to make her life better.
I had a 150 - 200 gl tank set up with lights fogger large water area and astroturf(carpetgrass stuff) and took one look at her and said 'misses you are too big to live in something like this'
She is about 3.5 ft long
I decided to turn one of our guest rooms into an iguana adventure zone for her to chill out in. I have looked up as much as I can about them and I am not sure how to do this. I could really use some input. I know they like to climb and swim around abit (and preferably poop in water) and that a mirror is a good idea, but how can I set it up - I have some ideas but i`d like other peoples ideas that I might not of thought about.
I want to get her a human heat pad to put for her to lay on@ night when her uv light isn`t on, and set up an area with her uv light that she can`t knock it down. I wanted to put a big old cat condow in there because she could hook into it and climb it and hide in it but I don`t think carpeted furniature is a good idea either because I don`t want her to cut off her circulation on her toes and loose and nails.
My partners father said he could get us tubes from carpet rolls but could she even clib these if they haven`t and carpet on them...can she dig into cardboard
anyways.......any suggestions
