Retirement

Well, Today is a sad day for me. Today is the first day in 22 years that i will no longer wear a Canadian Military uniform.
I wish i could put into words the feeling of leaving all my friends and peers behind to live the rest of my life as a civilian.

wow, what can I say, I'm sure it's an akward time for you with all the changes in your life but know that we all appriciate what you have done for us and that you are a special person. Happy retirement and just think, more time for ssnakess and the herp hobby now. ;)

Brian, sounds like it's time to buy a motorcycle!:D Seriously though, it must be hard to quit something you love. On the bright side, more time can be comitted to family, friends and reptiles!! Thx for the years of service..;)

Can't imagine retiring from something that can be so much a part of life and lifestyle - tough change - like being kicked out of a family and and you can never quite go back. Certainly wish you the best for some new challenges!! You will have no excuses not to complete that collection of milks now - you can even go get them all in person from where they are native to.

JonD: I agree with the motorcycle thought. Maybe after the kids hockey,swimming lessons, dancing, singing lessons and lets not forget my snake purchases, there might be a little left over for a handle bar.

all seriously though, when i gave up my bike after our seccond child, now third, the wife promised me a hog. Son in the next couple years i hope to be back on the road. lol. Right after the mini van is paid off. lol!

Oh man, I hear ya on that.

My bike license expires next August, and I want a new bike so bad. I've only ever owned old clunkers, and never did get around to finishing my full license.

The only thing I would find negative about riding a motorcycle these days is that it's much, much more dangerous now than 10 years ago.

Commuting to work last year, there wasn't a day that went by without having to avoid some idiot in a minivan/SUV or on a cell-phone who wasn't paying attention.

If enough people have bikes though, we could get herper meetings going at Friday the 13th :)
