got my bluey!!!!

I recieved my Indonesian blue tongue skink today:)

He is already eating his leafy greens and a 2 tiny slices of strawberries,which he picked out of the dish first:)

He is 8 inches and sooooo perrty and is also captive bred and born:)And I have him in a 20 gallon.

He hisses when I touch him right now, is it just stress?

How do I tame him better?

I will have a pic tommorow.......I promise;)

All 4 reptiles we got are a little aggressive.....2 jungle carpets and a amazon....thats surprising..lol

He's a cutie! Yes, he will calm down nicely most likely. Blue tongues are almost always tame and docile. They like to hiss when they feel threatened, just pet him gently every day and when he feels a little more comfortable in his surroundings and with you then you can begin to handle him. Cute little bugger. Mine's so big, I want a little baby....:)

What a cutie!!! Are you giving him time to acclimate and de-stress before handling him? I'd give him at least a couple of weeks of no touching to let him relax before handling him.... at least, that's what I've done with all of my reptiles and it usually helps! :)
