How long does it generally take for baby snakes to have their first shed? I'm assuming that they don't eat their first meal until after that, like leos... is it about like 1-2 weeks or something? That seems like a good figure, but it's a wild guess... hehe :)

I don't know, but I recieved two neonates in the mail last week and they are both eating and both will shed in the next day or two.

It all depends on the species of snake. Many species may shed out in 1-2 weeks while a few others may not have their first shed for several months. Generally snakes do not take their first meal until after they have had their first shed, with the exceptions of snakes that take longer to have their first shed.

It's a ball python that's the species in question....

I'm waiting for Jeff's new babies to shed so he can sex them and take some pretty pictures of them... hehe :)
