Where do you get co2? Went to Canadian Tire but all i could find was little cartridges for pint ball guns. You probably need to be able to contol the flow some how!

Visit a paintball shop and pick up a used 20 oz or 32 oz canister.

Expect to pay about 50 bucks.

Or visit the forums for paintballers and see if you can get a good deal.

I have a 20 oz tank with the remote but I've been getting frozen mice/rats instead of gassing them lately.

The tank cost me 50 and the remote cable cost 60.

The valve flow control they had in the shop cost 80, but I wasn't going to spend that much extra. If you're careful you can simply open the nozzle on the canister slowly and the CO2 will seep out at a good rate.

Actually, if anyone wants my CO2 tank and remote, I can bring them to the show in September. Will trade for one of Neil Meister's awesome little Uroplatus hatchlings :)

Thanks Cruciform for the info, just wondering is their anywhere else that is cheaper?? Does it take alot of co2 to kill 8 small rabbits?

Cheapest way is to get some dry ice...
Or I think baking soda and vinegar will do it..

The baking soda and vinegar trick might do for a very small number, but it did not go over well at all for half a dozen mice or two adult rats when I tried it.

That's just personal experience speaking though. Your mileage may vary.

Better to go with the dry ice at least though. It's cheap and will definitely do the job.

I checked around the Lower Mainland and couldn't find anyplace that sells "used" CO2 tanks. I tried going to several different types of businesses, but couldn't find anything. I checked just across the border and found a welding supply place that was willing to sell me a cheap CO2 tank and helped me set it up without a regulator. I got a valve for it instead which works great and some hose, and I'm all set.
Dry ice also works good, though the only place around me that sells it, won't sell anything less than 10lbs and it costs about $20. Gotta love living all the way out in the middle of nowhere! LOL!!

Any place that deals with fire extinguishers will have tanks of CO2 available as well as most welding supply places.
I have a 20# tank for controlling the atmosphere as well as a 90 gallon plannted fish tank in the lab.
I purchesed the tank and a refill yearly costs me only about $20.

you could buy a canister and remote off of ebay.

I usually just pick up 2 or 3 pounds of dry ice. often the guy that sells it is too lazy to charge me (he hates paperwork).
