Just out of curiosity, what kind of Canadian beer do bars sell outside of Canada (if any)?
Martin
They sell alot of cdn beer in the states(at least they used to, haven't been down south in a couple years), only it's brewed in the states and tastes like crap,

I've seen labbats and canadian products in europe. i wasnt really looking for canadian beers too many new things to try. Lots of my cousins in ireland drink Bud...god know why.
Canadian beer in the states is not canadian beer. It's all 4% max and tastes like watered down crap. I feel bad for the poor US, I don't know what I'd do without Canadian beer.... ~tear~ Wait, I'd move to Canada, that's what I'd do :)
to answer your question:
Molson Canadian and Labatt Blue are sold outside Canada. You won't find Keiths, or moosehead though.

Does that work the other way too? US beer in Canada is different than US beer in the States?

Molson merged with Coors, they wern't sold to Coors. Also they didn't and wouldn't sell the Canadian brand...Molson will still operate in Canada.;)
Hey Jand first off all i want to say people like you drive me nuts. Usally when you quote someone you ask them permision. Or else something like this happends first of all where did you hear this and lets see some facts what are we all supposed to be on our knees beleiving every word you have to say. And if you did hear that from somewhere maybe would you think that Coors wouldnt want the canadian public to know that they bought out part of Canadas pride our beer i think sales would slightly drop. But even if im wrong and your right wich i really dont care your still a loser who does that do you even know me NO so beat it! And i am sure all the kids that visit this side want to read whats at the bottom of your thread.
Hey Martin, you would typically find the big name brands being sold overseas, typically the best sellers or brand leader, like Molson Canadian and Labatt Blue. Not many microbrews export overseas, as their beer usually contains no preservatives and has a low shelf life. I have seen Canadian and Blue in parts of Asia and in the UK, and both companies are actively targeting Latin America (especially Brazil) and China.
5alive, as publicly traded companies, Molson and Coors have to disclose this information in order to comply with securities regulations. It is a merger where both companies will exchange shares.
FYI, this is fairly common. Labatt is part of Interbrew SA, a Belgian brewing group. Molson is partially owned by Fosters (Australia) and Miller (USA/South Africa).
5alive loosen up a bit, everyone's entitled to their opinions and I dont think JonD was doing a personal attack on you, he was just making a statement and joining in the conversation.

maybe you need someone's permission to quote them in a scientific journal, but once you write something on a public board, it's public property
anyways, at the bars here they sell like everyone else said Molson and Labatt, HOWEVER at the liquor stores they sell many more, and they sell various kinds of Molson and Labatt, ice, blue, etc
Labatt Blue is quite good in my opinion, but I can not stand Molson (however I've only tried Ice, so I would say I haven't given it a fair chance)

I've never tried it but I will if you thought it was good.
Anyone ever Old Speckled Hen? It is easily the worst beer I have ever tried. It tasted to me like someone put really old coffee in it. come to think of it, its possible one of my friends did.
Anyone drink Steeler?
Yep tried the Ol speckled Hen... Not bad if you like that kind of beer..couldn't drink more than a can though...;)
Hey Jon, did i get you a little bit upset man you must really enjoy the internet because finnaly you have a voice. Don't you realize that there are enough people to hate in the world already without your working so hard to give us another? They say space is a dangerous place . . . especially if it's between your ears!
Too bad stupidity isn't painful. do you have diarrhea of the mouth; constipation of the ideas. Don't get insulted, but is your job devoted to spreading ignorance? Don't thank me for insulting you. It was my pleasure. Have you considered suing your brains for nonsupport? I'd like to leave you with one thought ... but I'm not sure you have a place to put it! If I want any **** outta you I'll squeeze your head.
Let's play house. You be the door and I'll slam you.

I like most kinds of beer. It too bad the ones I really enjoy are the more costly imports. Guiness, Kilkenny, Stella mmm mmm good. Though it always makes for an expensive night at the pub. But my staple would be Canadian. Worst beer I evey had was called Mississippi Mud. Came in a little brown jug (main reason for buying it). Can't really describe it's taste other than awful.
Never had a Steeler, and I don't recall seeing Ol' Speckled Hen. What type of beer are those?
Did you get permision to post those? cause I really doubt that you did and you just made yourself look like a dumba**.
