Does anyone breed Garter Snakes in Canada? I'm getting back into Garters and was thinking about maybe getting some Snow's (Iowa) or some Caramel Albino's.

Not many who are known to breed them, but you do get the odd Thamno-freak with a litter here and there. Jonathan Crowe is the "biggest" breeder of garters I know. Seems like he almost always has a couple of babies kickin around.

Nice choice in morphs! I like the Iowa's as well as the Nebraska strains. Myself, I'm not a morph person. More fun playing with different species than the same one with different looks. But that's just me! :D

Either way, it's great to see another Garter-Freak in Canada. All the best in finding your starter stock. :)

Thanks for the mention, Vanan.

Actually, all I'm doing at the moment is trying to sell off the last of my 2002 "babies." One-half of each of my breeding pairs has died since, so I have nothing new to offer in the meantime -- not unless I can pair up what I've got right now or get some more breeding stock.

There are a few others I know of who breed garters of one sort or another, but they don't, to my knowledge, hang out here, and I'm not sure they'd appreciate the public mention. No one, so far as I know, works with the morphs you've asked about in Canada. Except for flames and melanistics, and amelanistic checkered garters, it's basically normal forms that are available.

Do you think if I could aqcuire some of these morphs they would sell here in Canada?
