I was just wondering how aggresive are week old hatchlings towards crix. I havent noticed any hunting behaviours. Also how many pinheads would they be able to eat in a feeding, Im assuming no more than 3 since they're so tiny.
Thanks

Aggressive doesn't seem to be in their vocabulary, even as a description of their eating habits. It's not often I see a baby crestie dive for a cricket or any other bug. They tend to be slow, methodical eaters. Think about eating, think twice, lick/taste, think it over, is it worth the effort? They do eat, obviously, but not like leos who chow down on anything that moves. It seems to take them a few weeks before they bother madly jumping after crickets, sometimes a month. The first few cricket meals seem to be only 2 or 3, if that, but it depends on the size. I use the size between pins and halfgrown. By 6 weeks of age my cresties generally eat 5 or so half grown crickets per meal (again, the size of crickets varies with source, even though the description is the same. Half grown for my supplier might not be the same size for yours).

I was just asking because I never had cresties this young and my other cresties when I got them (2 months of age approx) went nuts hunting them down and still do today, this is why I used the word aggressive. Thanks for explaining that to me. :D
