View Full Version : More Problems
My crested still has the shed stuck to his feet. I have been misting 3x per day, soaking his feet, using the qtip..... but when i trying pulling it off he leapt onto the floor in pain... He hasnt eaten in a while and he stays in the same place... Someone told me a remedy for giving him some energy, was to use 10:1 water to gatorade and use an eyedropper to put some on his lips.. I tried that, and it worked. The cause of ALL THIS. Is the shed on his toes... He couldnt run after crickets because of it, so he got lazy... i dont know what to do now! I really want to help him!!
thanks,
Geoff

Use tweezers to gently pull of the shed. Best of luck!

Personally, I think you're making this out to be worse than it really is.
If he had the energy to jump, he's probably not sick. If he's so sick that he can't chase after crickets, he's going to look very thin.
My guess would be that he's full and doesn't want to eat.
Also, I don't think he jumped because you were hurting him. Cresteds will leap onto the floor if you look at them the wrong way, so the jump was more likely out of instinct.
Just hold him still or have someone hold him still, while you try to get the shed off.
Even if you don't get it all off, it's not going to hurt him.
thanks concept for your words of wisdom.....(note the sarcasim)
I did what you said anothony... i got another person to hold him while i took it off. He climbed around but i still dont think hes eaten.
THanks you guys

Give him time. I never see my cresteds eat, I just know they have by the empty dish in the morn.
