What my Cal King usually does on a weekly basis is feed then disappear into her hidehole for a few days, then she is out and about exploring the tank then its back to feeding time again. But I have noticed over the last couple of weeks (she finished shedding last week) that she feeds goes into her hidehole and dose'nt come out again until I put food in the tank a week later then she eats then goes back into her hidehole etc. Two other things I have noticed with her is, she will rub her face repeatedly against the tank or her hidehole after each pinkie and when she has finished maybe 2 pinkies she will go into her water bowl and submerge for about 5 mins come out of the water and go back to her hidehole until feeding time a week later.
Now maybe I'm fussing to much but is this behaviour normal and to be expected?
Cheers

All of that behavior is fine. :)
The hiding thing is natural instincts. They hide a lot. That's just what they do. In the wild, they need to be discrete or they will be donating their liver to the birds! :D
With the feeding stuff, don't sweat it. As long as she's eating, she's fine. :)

yeah, I think Tim is correct. Plus, in nature, these animals live a MUCH MUCH harder lifestyle. They are constantly looking for food, as it never comes at regular "intervals" for them. They are hardwired to want to grow fast and hunt all the time. But your little guy has realized that it has a good thing going. Its stumbled on to a cache of good eatin'!! Why expend energy to go find food, when it simply comes by every other night?
And just because the snake is hiding, don't assume that it doesn't know EVERYTHING that goes on in and around the cage. Because it does.
Sounds like you're having fun with your Cal King though. They are GREAT snakes. Post a pic if you get a chance! :D

Yes, I'd love to see pics as well. On a coule of occasions my Cal King has taken a dip after eating and then retired to her hide as well. If she were human I'd say she worked up a sweat taking down her meal!
I agree with everyone, it's all cool. :D
Lots of times mine go for a nice soak after a big meal. Sometimes I wish I could too... ;)
