Went downstairs to The Room this morn. and saw some wee heads pokin' out of my last clutch of 7. All 7 seven had pipped, so I opened them up a bit to take a look. This is my last clutch of the season, and this is my clutch from a pastel to albino breeding. All seven babies will be 100% het for albino, and half of those seven will be pastels...

Egg #2, #5, #6 and #7 are pastels for sure, and until #4 rotates a bit, it's hard to tell but looks like he may be also. It's really nice when everything works itself out in the end. I am so stoked over this clutch!!

Ken, thing is I truly love pastels and working with them. I think they are THE coolest morph out there, and albinos come in a very close second. Pastels and Albinos, Albinos and Pastels. Funny 'cause even before I bought my first pastel female as a baby from Greg a few years back, I remember mentioning that an albino pastel would look really neat. Now I have the opportunity to make that happen at the end of the 2005/2006 breeding season.

I talked about pairing pastels with albinos and someone, won't menJtioen afny nfames said it wouldn't be worse it.lol I can't wait to see what will happen when you work it out. Are you going to pair up two of the pastels? Super albino pastels????

Mr. Subliminal; You never know what you've got until it's out of the egg. At the VERY worst, assuming that nothing really visually stunning brews in those eggs, you've got an albino that throws you 1/2 pastels with every clutch. This coming season, I'll be breeding for pastels, super pastels, het albinos, albinos and normals. It'll be a few years before I produce a super pastel albino. Gotta let my pastel het albino girls (assuming their not all boys) grow up first.

Chewie, I never dogged the albino Pastels. I said that we have no idea what they will look like, but me, liking everything pastel and everything albino, I would say it HAS to be cool. It might be tough to see which is which, but if we can tell hybinos from regular albinos, then the pastel albino will be truly awesome. For sure. Mykee might just be the first to do it too! That would be insane! Right up there with Corey's hypo-Pastel and hypo-Super Pastel!

Jeff: I doubt I'll be the first to do it, Mark Bell has been working with this project for a while now, and I'm honestly expecting him to pop up with a "Pastino" (I called it, double-locked it, no rubber-rasies!) any day now.
As of yet, only two are out of their eggs (they're killin' me!) When they are all out, I'll sex 'em and post pics.

And Mykee, this further proves the NEED for adult female albinos. Now that they have dropped to reasonable prices, I see most breeders having 10-20 adult female homozygous albinos to make double morphs with. One male Pastel het albino and one spider het albino takes care of 20 female albinos, just like that!
