I noticed the last 2 days my day geckos head seems to be getting a discolored dump forming. sorry about the bad picture.
You can see a discolored brownish bump forming on his forhead behind his eyes.
What could this be? ANY ADVICE or information would be incredibly appriciated.
THank you ahead of time.

I could be a burn? A beardie that I had a while back had a large mooshy bump on his back and it turned out to be a burn. All I did was serilize a pin and rubbed it on his back(didnt poke it) and put some polysporin on it.

Thanks Matt,
perhaps it is a burn as he does sit really high up in the tank under the lights. I am taking the little guy to the vet tomorrow.
If anyone else has input that would be great.

get a thing to put over your bulb so that this doesnt happen again. they are manufactured, but if you cant find one, make a little mesh "cage" to go around the bulb so that the gecko cant get to it.

That may be it, be sure to cover the bulb asap ;)

well here is the scoop.
He has a little infection...after the vet took a little needle into his bump extracted fluid.....
so he is on 0.1ml of Baytril for 8 days and hopefully this will clear
up his infection.
In the meantime (150$ later) haha
It's quite the challenge to get his mouth open to take it. I tryed injecting it into a worm..haha
that didn't work.
So wish me luck.
Oh I do have mesh over the bulbs I don't think he can get too close to them.
Thanks everyone for your input :)

Good luck with the little guy...keep a critical eye on that Baytril, i understand it has a narrow margin for theraputic dose...

The feedback I have recieved on Baytril is that is can do quite the damage to the liver in reptiles. If the Bayril did not have an effect of the bump then she said she was going to put together an antifungal medication for him. There was so little fluid to pull out of the bump that it was not enough to do a culture. However the bump has decreased in size YAY!! I can tell by he green color coming back where it was brown....so I am super happy :)

ALSO I have found the easiliest way to give it to him is to drop a droplet of the liquid on the tip of his nose and he licks it off.

Well, that sounds encouraging! I suppose... it's still possible that you are looking at a blister from heat...and that the needle prick to aspirate the fluid allowed the blister to drain...? Just a thought. Either way, things sound on the up and up!:D
