I am thinking of getting a breeder group of cresties, but I have a few questions that the care sheets didn't answer...
1. Are they abboreal?
2. Can they throw off their tail (atotomy) (Bad sp... I know.) ?
3. How big do they get? (I found a big difference in a few caresheets...)
Does anyone have any breeder groups (Preferably 1.2) for sale? Can they be housed together? I am brand new at them, so I ask a lot of questions...
:) Thanks

Hi Dan,
Yes, they're arboreal -- and yes, they can drop their tails, and the tail doesn't grow back. It doesn't happen all that easily though, they'd have to feel really threatened. They get about 5-6" fully grown. Breeding groups can be housed together, as long as there's not more than one male per enclosure.
HTH -- cresties are great, I'm sure that you'll enjoy them! :)

Yeah.... Phew, those're some big girls you've got there though! :)
*pulls out her ruler* -- holy ****! I can't even imagine a crested that big... hehe :) I suppose that a good 4" of it is tail, but still... that is one BIG crestie... What you been feeding those guys?? ;)
lol..
I know, they're just huge!
One girl is three years old, the other is 4 years old. Despite producing a lot of eggs, they've both grown since I got them and have held really good weight. When I first started breeding the 3 year old she was about 18 months old. And the male was much bigger then her. Now she dwarfs him. :)
I feed them crickets, superworms, and always leave a little dish of day gecko food with a tiny bit of calcium mixed in. They just love that stuff...
