Hey can someone tell me what happend???

Hey i feed my Albino King every wednesday 3 f/t jumbos. Last night i fed her and tonight i went to check up on her and the three mice were all over her cage. I think by the smell and the legth of time that they were in her over twenty-four hours that it was not regergated but as you can see by the pic the mice are now brown and the one was over half digested. So if anyone knows what might have gone wrong?

Damn!! 3 Jumbos every week? even my emeralds and ball python dont even eat that much... maybe your over feeding? and she can't take it anymore??? could be why shes regurging them?? then again i could be wrong but DAMN! 3???? PIGGY!!!

I have had her on that for almost a year she hasnt had any problems with it untill now. Shes six years old and just over six feet long. I am pretty sure that she didnt regurgate the mice since they were in her for over 24 hours but hey i could be wrong but i am glad i wasnt her because man did they stink! Well maybe i will try taking her back down to 2 she has been hidding since the incedent how long would you suggest i wait before giving her another try?

at least give her a week and try to give her one half the sise that you normly feed her for a wile at 6' she is full grown and dos,t need that much food .over feeding her will only shorten her life Paul

Paul is right. It's all fine and dandy to feed them huge meals while they are growing, but once they hit adulthood, you should cut back at least a little bit. But even at 6 feet, 3 jumbos is way too much. I had an almost 6 foot king that would take 3 normal adults or 2 jumbos, but any more than that is risky.

Something else to consider are your temperatures. If she's not being kept warm enough, regurge is almost inevitable. What are your cage temps?

Ya shes seems to be feeling fine today and ya i took her off rats along time ago jj. Thanks for the info. i wonder why after a year of having three then all of a sudden??

If the mice are OUTSIDE of her body, half digested, how else did she get them there besides regurging them?

5alive I belive mykee is try to say that she did regurge them even though you mentioned a couple of times that you didnt think they were regurged. snakes can regurge food days after they have eaten it.

I've never had to deal with a snake regurging but I remember reading one breeder who said after it happened he wouldnt feed his snake for a month as it is very hard on there system and gives them time to recover. Just something you might want to consider. Also you may look at switching to bi-weekly feedings

also on why it might have happened besides the too big a meal theory

1) temps to high and food started to rot
2)some sort of bacteria
3)the mice were bad
4) there a blockage in your snakes system.

You really wont know where the situation is serious until the next feeding. Let us know how that goes.

Regurgitation smells worse than crap does too. Nasty stuff.
