View Full Version : snow question
This is my female '02 snow. It's the best pic I could get at the moment b/c she won't stay still long enough. My question is: Is it common that they stay this pink? I've only seen a couple others and they seem to fade as they get older but she's retained all of her pink and not faded at all.

Thanks,

Some do become pink snows. So yes it is possible that it could stay that pink. (without the hypo gene in the mix)
Or some are actually Hypo snows so it is homo hypo amel and anery thus making the snow so pink.

Can you tell when they are babies. I have a snow and he has hints of pink but they are very faded. Will it get more pink or stay white...or will I just have to wait and see?

If it is this pink at 2 years, it is likely that it will remain pink, but they do tend to get greenish borders around the saddles. Like Simon said - those that are homozygous for the hypo gene tend to stay a lot pinker than others. Snows rarely seem to get darker pink as they age.
In my opinion the background color on this one is too white to be an amel - just a lot of yellow infusion in the neck rather than the golden or orange that amels have.
