Hi, I was wondering if I could find someone at the sept. show to vialate my snake. lol. I need it to be probed to make sure of sex. I had a guy look at it from the tail length and tell me it was a female but I want to be possitive so that I can look for a mate at the show. I'd also like to learn to probe a snake from someone with experience. I've read up on it but don't want to try it myself until I've seen it done. Oh, it's a corn snake btw. Very tame and about a year or so. She/He's a beauty.

Pretty much anybody there that has a table, would be willing to sex your snake for you. But you'll have to sneak it in. They won't let you bring it in without having a table. But once it's in, they won't know if you got it there or not.
lol, i wouldnt do that. You may get cought and that wouldnt be good. Perhaps just explain your situation before you arrive with your snake.
I have been known to probe the odd snake at the shows... look me up..

Oh, sorry for the missunderstanding. I will have a table there. I've been going 2-3 shows a year for the last couple years. Don't usually get to everyshow because they are on week ends and I've had weddings and birthday parties fall on same days as the shows. But I'll be safe, I do have a table. Just thought I'd ask before the show because I don't want to be running around with my snake saying "can you probe my snake?" at every table I see snakes at. lol, I have been into lizards and geckos since 1999 but just got into snakes in the last 3 months. I have always wanted some but my husband is terrified and wouldn't let them in the house. He finally came around after nearly 2 years with blue tongues skinks.
Also I've seen people bring in animals at past shows that didn't have tables. Now, this was at the last location and before there were as many rules and regs to fallow. I missed june's show because of a wedding and went to the Newmarket show. That was a bust! But I did pick up a nice little milk and corn there.
Thanks Joe, I will look for you at the show. btw, that is my husbands name too. He wont be there though, he would faint as soon as he walked in the room. lol.
I'll also be looking to buy a probing set so if you sell them let me know and I'll get it off you. ;) What is the going price for a probe set and a feeding tong? Thanks.
Contact Grant and let him know the situation. At least that gets you a foot in the door for your query...plus the worst he can say is no....but he is a nice guy so just ask.

Holy crow?!?! 50 bucks for probes?
How many pieces are there in the set? I saw a set recently for 10 bucks, not sure if it was on Big Apple or Kathy Love's site. It was only three pieces though. Which should be more than enough for most animals should it not?
6 probes and a little aluminum case.. They have rubber handle like things on them too.. They're really nice.. I think they're a bit cheaper then $50.. Not 100% sure though..

I've heard that you should be sure to get the probe sets with ball tips so that you dont hurt the snake, and they may cost a few bucks more.

In answer to the clamps... I paid under around 7.99 for a 18" pair of needle nose at Princess Auto... I use these to feed all my snakes, they work great...
