Holy crap!
I'm not a huge fan of spider but she is pretty!
that is an amazing terrarium...how'd you do that?
what does she do with the mouse? suck out the blood? Do you feed her live mice?

Silke,

The terrarium is held up by the base made out of foam called a foamarium. There are two holes that let her go down to her burrow and it's really sweet for a tarantula. I added some substrate (coconut husk) and added some decor. I had bought some to go in my snake tanks and they loved them but they're not as practical as snakes make bigger and wetter messes so cleaning up was a real pain :(

As for the food for my T, yes she takes live fuzzy mice. One every 2 weeks or so. She injects her digestive juices which dissolves the insides and sucks out the mouse. This is what it looks like after when she's pretty much done.

It takes her anywhere between 12 and 24 hours to eat the fuzzy.

Thank you :)

I do hope she likes her home too, she's going to be around for quite a few years and I want her to be well and happy. As much as a spider can be!

It's always neat to watch her eat but the real treat was watching her moult, really amazing! Wished I had my digital camera back then cause I would have took a whole bunch of pics. Next time, but that can be in a little while.

She's about 3 years old now and pretty much full grown. Has a legspan of 5". From what I've read it could take anywhere from 1 to 3 years! She moulted last April so it'll be another few months at the very least.

Wow that is an amazing setup! That foamarium, where do you get it? I would be really interested in that stuff as I just adore Ts! Your T is definately an A+++, gorgeous specimen! :) :D

Hi Nikki,

You can find foamariums on Ebay, that's where I got mine. Just type the name in the search field and it should bring up the items in question. They are really great for T's and decently priced, just contact the seller and he'll let you know which models he has available. Service was quick and good.

I love the way they make a nice terrarium and my Charlotte seems to really like it too :)
