Frilled help needed.....

I posted this question in a forum a few down but no one seems to be answering so I wanted to re-ask here:

I have a question that I hope you guys could answer: my frilly doesn't move around much, when he does, it's in spurts of running around for a minute and then stopping. He mostly just lays there either basking or in the back corner. He is very lethargic and doesn't eat much either (I've tried a few different things). Is it typical for frilleds to not be active? I'm worried about him and want him to be happy!

I'm planning to move him to a bigger cage soon, it's all set up, but I wanted to make sure he's okay to move.

Everything I've read said that juvi frilled dragons are very active and scared, pretty much till adults.....

Any advice would be appriciated! Thanks!

spray him morning, and night. 10 mins before lights on 10 before lights off.. humidity helps them alot. Make sure hes well hydrated, they stop eating if they dont remain hydrated. Does he have a big water dish and does he use it? you may want to soak him in warm water for about an hour.

You'll find frillies very shy eaters. Mine will NOT eat out of a dish. I have to hold the damn worms in front of him, or throw in crickets. you can also try pinkies or fuzzies once a week if you feel hes underweight.

I have the exact same behavoir from my young frilled, he is just lazy and always lounging around until either feeding time or else I startle him, other than that he just finds his favorite perch and hangs out there. I think it is normal behavour, all 4 of my frilleds act the same way...but other insight is always appreciated

I spray him once a day, but will do it twice for sure!

He does have a big water dish but will have a much bigger one in his new enclosure........ when he does eat it's out of a long dish (as long as him) with very shallow sides with the food in it but the sides are just high enough that the worms or whatever can't crawl out.

I raise rats, so will try a day old or new born tonight, can i feed a live one?

you can feed a live day olds and newborns to anything, because they dont really have the capacity to bite.

I put in a day old today and i checked a minute later and it was gone!

I'm going to freeze a few and give him one or two a week..... here's hoping he'll take the f/t ones.......

yeah, no k-snake.com like stuff to put up with here..... man those guys rip you apart!

although, i DID do alot of reading before getting the frilly, and all said that they were very active. All of our years of monitor/snake/gecko experience didn't really prepare us for a dragon!

So anyway, all his temps and housing are good, and he's parasite free, so i'm sure he'll be fine.

one suggestion. caveat: i have no frilled experience, this is just a thought. if u think that he is overly scared, and that is why he spends time hiding, maybe covering the sides of the enclosure with newspaper part way will help. i know that this works wonders with nervous young water dragons.

Good luck buddy with the frozen rats. My 2 frilleds (10 months) doesn't eat dead pinkies and its the same for one of my friend (2 sub-adult). Mine are more active when I spreay them with a higher humidity.
