Hi all,
Im new here, great forum.
Plz excuse my bad english.
I got a baby Spotted's Python few day
ago, but there is few thing im worrying about.
1st. my snake is around 11 month old
but its only around 13 inches in lenght, i think its small for this age? it should be larger?
2nd. is it possible its a Children instead of a spotted? i think both look the same but spotted get larger than children?
How can i see if its really a spotted or a children?
Thanks you.
Maculosa
spotteds and childrens are the same animal. there are three different breed of childrens. soory can't remember the name. they only grow to 4ft in length. they are a nice animal.

spotted and children's are actually now considered separate species, but they are so similar that it really doesnt matter which one you have as husbandry is identical. it is also possible that your animal is a hybrid, as they were not considered separate species until recently so they were often interbred in captivity. if u are interested in breeding it once it reaches an adult age, post a pic of it on this forum and someone will id it for u.
as for the size, i dont know how big an animal of that age is supposed to be, but they are very small as adults, so i would not be worried. just make sure u are feeding it enuff: a rodent that is about 1.5 times as thick as the thickest part of the snakes body, every week or so. good luck!

I have real difficulties to take my spotted,
once i put my hand in the cage he try to
attact me. but when i finally take it in my hand he is very docile, but he is VERY active. is it a sing of nervosity??
Sorry for my bad english!

that behavior seems pretty normal. you may try using a hook to get him out of the cage if you are afraid of being bitten.
