Does anyone else have the problem of female crix laying eggs in the cresties nest box? I found hundreds of little crix running around in my females enclosures. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
Thanks

yes crickets will lay anywhere that has moister. So the best thing to do is to either just feed them male crickets and feed the females to your other reptiles, the other solution would be just to not have any soil, but i little baby crickets will die off without food there isnt much to worry

I really dont want to go through the hastle of seperating the males from the females. My main worry is that the baby crix may try to bite/eat my geckos.

The best way I've found to keep crickets from breeding is to try breeding them. :D You can try for months and get nothing and then when you don't really want them to breed, they breed.
The simple solution is to not put so many crickets in with your geckos. If they have time to lay eggs in your geckos' nest boxes, you're putting in more than they can eat in one sitting.

If you have enough room in your crested's enclosure for a small critter keeper (the 8" kind) most crickets can't jump out of that easily. That way the crix are separated from the rest of the enclosure and can be kept where they won't lay.
