I have one little non feeder that i force fed a couple of mouse tails yesterday. He was born on june 28 and had not eaten despite my efforts. Is there any nutritional value in a mouse tail? He put up a bit of a fight but relly didn't seem to mind the whole ordeal. Any other ideas or suggestions apreciated

thx

Not much nutritional value, just something to get their system going and get them used to swollowing food. We switched to using the hind leg of a small fuzzy mouse after a couple tails - if it is put in foot first, it goes down pretty easy and is a bit less bulk than forcefeeding a whole pinky so less traumatic.

Good luck with that little one - I only had a couple that started on their own after being force fed last year, until I brumated them. Was really considering Roy's suggestion to go directly to the pinky pump idea (syringe and tube with mushed up cat food) this year, but so far everyone is eating.

good luck with that little one,
