What is the difference between opal and snow? I have what I think is a snow and it looks exactly like your opal. Hope you can answer this ?. Jamie

opal is an amelanistic lavender
snow is an amelanistic anery type a
i am sure that what you have is a snow, other wise it would have cost a couple hundred dollars, versus about 50 for a snow
Amazing snakes you've hatched out!, Congrads!!!:D Also, how much are they going for?

Nice looking little ones....and yeah they're really little....LOL!!
Too bad about the little opal....it might be better to even put it down.....don't think that it will eat...properly just starve to death~
but better luck with the next clutch!

Thanks for sharing pics of these babies - hope the little opal does recover - difficult when they are born with problems like that.
The aztec pattern really does seem to be strongly associated with the lavender genes -
Jamie - as Thunder has said - the amel with lavender gives you opals - genetically quite different from snows and they appear quite different as adults - with more orange tones in the background color and less pink or green. I don't believe the opals ever develop the yellow in the chin area that virtually all snows get as they age. It can be very difficult to tell them apart as hatchlings though - as you say - this one looks just like your snow corn would. I assume that the distinct color of the opal is more evident in this one in person or that AgaR can be sure that anery A gene is not present in his parent stock, so any white patterned babies that hatch from this pair must be opal rather than snow,

Thank you for clearing that up for me. I must have a snow since mom is an amel and dad is a anrey A. Again thank you. Jamie
