new scorp

i am looking into getting a scorpion purely for display so any suggestions what types look the best???? and does anyone know of any good scorp sites that ship to canada?????tnx for your time

I like Emperors and Arizona Bark alot...but Arizona Barks arent good beginners.

Go with an Emperor.

an emperor would be a great display animal or a desert hairy (both are fairly large and hardy), a desert hairy would be awsome for display in a desert type environment decorated with foam skulls and fake cactus's IMHO. But if you want to go extreme and if you have had enough experience, i would go for a yellow or black fattail scorp :) just my 2cents, but dont go out and buy a fattail scorp for display just because u heard they would make awsome display animals or u might find urself in a sticky situation one day.

Emperors are possibly the worst display scorpion. They spend about 80-90% of their day underground, and usually come out at around 2-3am. Scorpions are all pretty cruddy for display, as most burrow or hide and all are nocturnal. Desert hairies, however, will be more active during dusk and night.

If you want a display scorpion, you really want a climber. Centruroides are good for this and can be kept communally, but they aren't really beginner scorpions. Opisthacanthus, if you can find it, is a great genus that climbs, is fairly large and less venomous than P.imperator (emperors). The only thing you have to watch out for is that you don't get Cheloctonus -- looks almost exactly the same but burrows.

Failing that, the more active desert scorpions are good choice. Hadrurus or Vaejovis are good genera to go for -- for the latter you will want to have a rock surface against which they can abutt.
