Hi, everyone
My name is Hannah
I'm heather's sister (punkoponastar)
Well tommarow i'm recieving an Central American Banded gecko..
:D i've done some research and it seems every where i go it says they are not climby animals..and so they you don't need a lid (is what they say)..but just to be really sure do i need a lid? because
i really don't want to have a loose gecko in the house...it's also an adult . Can they jump?

lol, I kept them many many years ago, there basically the same as a leopard that way, You probably could get away with no lid in something like an aquarium, but reaaly I wouldn't suggest ever doing this, there are plenty of reasons why its not a good idea CATS for one, lids are the best bet! enjoy your new little guy there an awsome little gecko!

I dont keep lids on some of my geckos tanks..leopard..but I have had an escape before so id suggest getting one. I just dont have one because my tank is simple, 3 hides and a water dish so theirs nothing to climb up and out..i had a stick once and thats how one of them got out..but up until now I havnt had problems. For security and if you can id say get one though. :D get some pics up when you get him!

Hey guys. She'll probably end up getting a lid eventually. She's taking it in for a friend of mine, so its free and the tank is free. Where on earth are you getting lids for 15.00? They're always MORE expensive than tanks where I go...
These geckos look cute, it should be neat. My sisters done her research, I'm very proud ;)

I've had several Coleonyx species before, and they are fantastic little geckos. They are terrestrial, but don't expect them to know that. I've seen them dig their sharp little claws into the silicone sealant, climb all the way up to the top frame and sleep on that little 'shelf' under the lid. They will probably find a way to escape, they're great at it, even. Cute little suckers, but always one step ahead of you.
I've always got lids on my tanks, not just to keep them in, but to keep things out - like cats, nosey kids, falling objects.
