I've noticed the last few days my 3 month old panther is starting to get small white patches on him, more every day. I'm thinking its just him starting to shed but I'm not sure, can anyone tell me when chameleons start to shed?

chameleons usually shed for the first time just not even a week after hatching. And they will continue to shed as they grow. Eventually when they get mature they will only shed once in a while as they are pretty well done growing. Pics of the white patches would help. Ive noticed it usually start around the head and back area first slowly working down to the feet. At one point my female was shedding almost twice a month. Now at 12 months about once a month sometimes more.
But yes if the white patches look like it is sort of lifting off the skin it is all good. again pics would be really helpfull.

Just an addition to my previous post. I would say he is shedding, because I just realized the wrinkles in his skin. I notice with my own chams that the day before they shed, they get the wrinkles in their skin.

With some lizards (as I've at least noticed with my geckos and chameleons) you sometimes won't even notice shedding. I haven't seen some of my geckos shed ever, and if I do its always been due to some kind of illness/low humidity where the shed wasn't moving along properly. Somedays I'll notice my cham turn WHITE, and then the shed will be off the next day, or I won't even see him turn white and the flakes of shed will be along the bottom of the enclosure...

Its probable that he has shed before, but you haven't caught it ;) Shedding usually takes one or two days max (in my experience) and misting can help increase humidity and allow them to shed with more ease....just don't pick at it :p
