Im not sure if this is really a chance for death, but 2 beardies died on me, and i dont want a 3rd one doing it too..

Anyway i saw my adult beardies inside of his mouth, and it looks strange.I noticed hed been opening it alot recently, i thought it was the heat , since they pant, and i noticed the end of his tounge was yellow.

This wasnt really usual for him, and itd been like this for a few weeks, but i didnt know if it was bad or not, or a change he would have.

Anyway today i got extra worried, and took him to the vets.On the way he was very stressed and smashed into the thing he was being carried in(made of wood)

Kept doing it, and we got him on the vets table. To have a look the vet got tweezers, and opened his mouth up, which stressed him further.Struggling a little bit while trying to open his mouth.

At the end of it, the vet said there was something wrong with the tounge, the end shouldnt be yellow, so he went off to get some anti biotics, and then had to open his mouth again to check something else, which stressed the little dude out further.

We were instructed every evening at the same time to give him 0.2 ml of his anti biotics(ill check what they were called later and what they contained)

Anyway it had to be done today and tuesday so we did it today, and whilst squirming, he got some in his eye by accident(he was very squirmy and broke hold of my grip), which meant he jerked the syringe with the anti biotics and it went in his eye, which really stressed him out.

My dad cleaned it up on the outside, and i guess it cleaned itself on the inside, with that light blue 2nd eyelid.Anyway he wasnt blind (the vet should have thought this could happen with other owners so he would have made it fatal to eyes right?) and i checked an hour later, still not blind, so he looks ok there for now.

Anyway, hes had a bad day today, forced about, put in a box and confused, got in the eye with antibiotics, hated taking them, and im worried his stomach will muck up, since i think hes might have constipation as well.

All this stress, could it kill him?Hes gotta go back to the vets on wednsday, and more anti biotics tommorow evening, and i dunno if he will take it, he seems to get stressed easily.

My first beardie just died a little while ago and to this day i dont really know why either... i took my beardie to the vets because the couldnt move her front arms... he told me a bunch of bullshit so i force fed her and stuff like he told me to but she wasnt gettin any better and her beard would constantly move back and forth which was so weird cause i've never seen another one do it... finally one night she threw up and died that night... it was terrible... i'm so mad at the vet even though it might not have been his fault... it sucks.

chances are he is just not going to drop dead, stress kills animals by causing side affects, like loss of appetite or weakend amune system. If your beardy continues eating normally he will be OK.

Did your vet run a fecal on your beardie???

Can you give me more details about the care you give yours, like cage size , substrate, feeding, temps, things like that. It would give me a better understanding and i or others may be able to point you in the right direction.

Most beardies are very tolerant and usually don't stress that easily. I personally think stress wouldn't kill him, but there has to be something else wrong, wether it be a disease, parasite or some other reason.

If this beardie would pass away on you i would suggest a necropsy, that way you would know the exact cause of death and not assume.

You say that two bearded dragons have died on you, I am curious - is this over an extended period of time or just recently? If so I would consider some sort of parasite in your collection.

As for this yellow, was this yellow saliva on his tounge, or was the yellow actually a part of the tounge? In regards to stress killing your beardie, I would not say specifically that stress itself could kill your beardie, however there are aftereffects of stress which could do harm, so obviously try to keep the stress minimal. I sent you a PM so check that out.
