I wouldn't use anything that doesn't say aquarium-safe, which most bath tub kinds aren't. You don't need to buy that expensive crap specifically marketted towards aquariums, just make sure it is safe. Often, 100% silicone products contain additives to help stave off mold and mildew, as well as they continue to offgas ammonia after they are fully cured. Now I don't know how significant this would be to a snake, but it does alter the ph levels in water. I learned this from GE themselves, and they recommended I find an alternate product to theirs for the purpose of animals. Better safe than sorry, right?
