Hey
I got a problem as you can see. My female doesnt look like shes growing at all. Shes gravid and she is near the 30 day mark but there still 8 days left. I know they can range from 30 to 40 days. Now is it to soon to tell if she has eggs or not? cause i cant feel any and i cant see any either, so im getting worried. She has also stopped eating, which isnt unusal. Here are some pics so you can compare.
This is when i first got her and same with the second pic

Those are definatly gravid colors meow. i will say u are thinging of this hole thing too clinically. the 30 day thing is just a guide. she does look bigger and panthers dont lay as many eggs as veilds can so they tend not to become overly evident untill a week or soo b4 laying. Just keep a look out for signs of laying, Do u have a lay bucket ready what method are u going to be using. I sugust u putting the lay box in her cage with her so she can check it out. they do do that i notice, also gives her a calm less stress place to lay. So just keep an eye out for less eating spending time at bottom ect... hope that helps realax meow it will come. lol :) your like a over protective daddy lol hahahahha

lol i am haha, o man. Im already planning on how to breed these fruitflys lol. The method im gonna be doing is the trash can thing, But i do have a laying site in there if she does lay early. So once i see her on the floor and such i will have had the trash can ready. :)

I think u should have the can inher cage b4 hand this will allow her the knowledg that there is a place to lay and she can go lay when the time comes with little to no stress. just an idea

I agree with Brandy. It will also allow her to start digging when she wantes, and if you choose, allow her to lay in the cage rather than outside. Just imagine you ever saw her on the bottom, but all the time you were gone she was down .. wouldnt be pretty.

I myself have used the big tubs for icecream full of a damp sand in the past as a lay site, I know many breeders that use that methode and it seems to work well, I never had a problem nor heard of anyone else haveing a problem, with this meathod it's easy to leave in her cage all the time, I never take mine out even when she's not gravid, best of luck with the eggs :)

Did she back into the hole? it takes a while for the colors to ware off, check for eggs now that she is sleeping.
