looking for lost toes

I feel soooo bad. I took out my water monitor tonite and noticed:( one portion of toe on each of his rear feet was was gone. on one, just a bit past the nail, on the other, at the joint. They don't look infected, but I'm a bit bummed cause I never had that happen. I think he got it caught at the top of his cage. Is this a common thing to happen? Should I be worried?

are you sure he had toes when you got him? a lot of times, breeders keep clutches together, and they nip one another.
