Doesn't it go against ALL social laws to kneel before a geek? :p :D
My brother was saying that he read that Lucas had signed a lot fo the crew on for 3 more films. Anyone else heard anything like that?

slept in line for three days?
Heh, I walked up to the ticket booth 1 hour before the first show (midnight viewing) in Toronto and got a seat at the Sheppard Centre. The entire next day was already sold out but they hadn't made the overnight tickets available until that evening :)
And 1 and 2 have both been pretty disappointing. Nice CG and all, just can't stand the Anakin and Padme.

Yep. I heard that the new film will be out next spring...I truely hope Georgey has learned his lesson about making these movies...STORY STORY STORY!!!! I haven't been overwhelmed with a Star Wars movie since Return...I love...love...love star wars...but no movie is worth it's weight without a story that holds you there in your seat and makes you feel like you ARE in that galaxy far away...he's got a year to make it work...don't dissapoint us George...the force is strong in you....
but there is another...lol...;)

A story for the characters would definitely be nice. It's like the movies are really just about events in the Star Wars history, and the characters and plot are incidental.

You may not guess this of me, but I'm a MAJOR Star Wars geek! And proud of it! Waited in line for 3 hours at the premiere of Episode II, and I must say that one was way better than Episode I. Although the storyline between Anakin and Padme is important (it must be shown how his temptations lead him to the dark side, as well as how Luke and Leia were conceived), they really made it uber-cheeseball in Episode II. But still, the clone wars should be GREAT!
SW Trivia for ya... did you know that Obi-Wan dies in the clone wars? That's right... the Obi-Wan in Episodes 4, 5 and 6 was his CLONE! If Lucas omits that from the movie, I will be miffed, I tell ya.

Kenny, I'm impressed! :D
I'm with you. I say the Padme/Anikan scenes are kind of the whole point of Episode II. That's WHY he turns to the dark side. If they don't show that, what's the point?
I'm looking forward to Mace's death scene! I already know more about it than I want to though.
So Ken, heard any more rumors about Episode III?

Mace's death is supposed to be awesome. Isn't whale rider girl in the new one?

*fingers in ears*............lalalalalalalalalalala........... TB
Shouldn't obi-wan have an elongated name then? like Jedi Mast Jouurs C'boath Did ? i was under the impression that clones pronounced their names differently....meh? anyways i think they should just skip past these movies and get to the thrawn series...i wanna see some crazy @$$ Noghri!!! And Vornskrs...DAMN IM A SW GEEK!

Tim, I haven't heard any rumors or spoilers, except that we get to see Mace whomp some serious Sith A$$ before he gets defeated. I try not to read any spoilers. As for the Padme/Anakin scenes, they were just too much. Sure, they need to show it, but they could have done it without the cheeseball field full of flowers, rolling down the hill giggling crap. :)

Ben's a Clone????? Ok what crappy book did that come from? Sorry but the Expanded Universe blows.
Star wars has great potential although the last two movies didnt keep me too interested. :(
was quite disapointed..
WHAT!!!! half the books in the expanded universe are better than anything George lucas could do...Ie the Timothy Zahn Books
And lets not Forget R.A.Salvatores Book Vector Prime if u wanna read Jedi's getting their @$$es whooped

Timothy Zahn!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Well we will always differ there, that was by far the worst series imaginable, He knew Jack s*** about SW mythos when he wrote that, add libbed his way though it, found a simple means to make it possible to not have to address the force and then stole liberally from Jedi to get out of the series!!!!!!!! Zahn was the worst !, and Vector Prime the one book that sums up the "if you can't write within the SW universe, then change it to suit you" philosophy that characterizes a long list of bad novelists. But that seems to be a dividing line between us Old School SW fanatics and today's SW geeks.
Which is an excellent point there, I never was nor will be a SW "geek" I'm far too hard core old school with way too much of a life to wear that hat.
Besides this is the wrong board for this arguement anyway. There are forums at TFN for this.
Never trust anyone who can't remember seeing SW in theaters in 1977. (AKA don't trust anyone UNDER 30)

Came right from your own finger tips...geek! :p
I am avoiding everything as much as I can this time around. I hate knowing the ending before I go in(Reason #23,867 why 'Titanic' sucked arse).
I hope they do keep making the books into films, as I haven't read a single one and probably never will. George can stay away and keep getting stinking rich...er. Everyone wins, but not sure how likely that is...

YES, yes I did. And I recant. As I had said "founding", the implication was that I was a SW geek before there really were "geeks" per-se. (hell I was a SW fan since before there were home computers, VCRs or even touch tone phones). You know, back when SW "geeks" were "fanatics", and would laugh at Trekkies with all their precious books. Because we could care less what button did what because it is all just pretend. When I said that I gues I didn't expect to have to argue the Expanded Universe geeks vs. the hard core traditionalists.
