View Full Version : reptile art
Here is a pic of a recently completed art project. Thanks to all the site members who sent photos to help with this project. I really appreciated it. This is actually a wall hanging sculpture. It is hand sculpted form a lump of white clay. I hope the detail looks ok! Can you tell what it is? enjoy!

very talented work there Rhonda!
I'll hazard a guess at what the art represents.
Is it a snake that is lashing out in anger and frustration after having fallen from a skyscrapper onto a sidewalk and landed on his tail. LOL Just kidding.
Are you planning on painting it realistically?

Thats wicked. i would buy one of those.
Here's the frustrating part about this project. I painted it gold because I sort of gave up on painting it to be lifelike. Usually making my sculptures appear lifelike is fun and not a problem but to date I have never been able to paint a rattlesnake so it looks real! That is sooo frustrating! I will however continue trying until I get it right! This sculpture was suppose to be an eastern diamond back. I scrubbed the paint off twice before giving up and painting it gold.
