My 6 months old ETB is about 18 inches long and seems to be too big for its 8 gallons plastic tank ( high but not large at all ), do you guys think it would bother him to be moved to a 21 gallons cage??? I would also change it's 1/2'' perch for a 3/4''... Would he feel too insecure? Even if i crowded the new cage with fake plants? The last thing i want is to have it stessed, not eating, inactive and with restricted growth... What do you guys keep your juvenies in???

Phil,
Do you have any pics of your little one in it's enclosure? I have since moved my Nov/2003 animals into rubbermaids measuring 1 1/2 feet by 1 foot by 1 foot high.. Here is a pic of the cages.. They are also around the 18-20 inch length and will probably do in these for another 6 months or so.. I don't feel they need all that much space as neo-yearlings.. Here's a pic of the 2 rubbermaids I mentioned.. Mind you these are old pics of old snakes that have since been moved into Visions enclosures..
Also.. I wouldn't be crowding the cage too much with foilage. It will make it harder to clean/feed the snake and it's cage.. Just a couple smaller plants will do the trick.

Well, the 21 gallon tank i just set up looks a lot like the ones you're using for your babies... Mine looks a lot like the orange one, on the right, except that it is already doing it's color change and it's halfway green... My perchs are only made of PVC so it doesnt end up looking as nice as your cages. Well, i guess i wont feel too insecure myself of moving it to the new tank, thanks to your pics! :) I'll post pics when i'll have my baby in the new setup!!
