Hey all,
I have a male beardie that I think is just comming up on sexual maturity and wondering if they go through a kind of "beardie puberity" where they get overly territorial.
He is normally like a puppy dog and loves to be handled and get attention but the past few days he has been super aggressive. The only other thing I can think of is a couple of days ago I had to clean out his enclosure so I moved him to a medium sized rubbermaid while I did this so maybe he is just mad at me LOL
Today I wanted to try and earn his trust back by offering him food out of my hand and he actually leaped off of the cage floor and bit my hand!!!! I also noticed that his beard was puffed up a lot and was really dark, black even which I have never seen on him before.
Any thoughts on this interesting behavior would be great. He is in an appropriatly sized enclosure with the proper heating and lighting and nothing has chaged for his setup so not exactly sure what would have brought on this behavior.
Thanks,

my adult male gets very territorial when he notices the cat watching him from the other side of the cage....he does the head bob and will flare out on occasion and all with a black beard.the cat doesnt move, i think she knows he is just being a jerk.
